This is a pair of mugs matched in size, yet with unique and individual glazing.
The design on these mugs was inspired by the volunteer squash vine that grew around the door to our studio in West Virginia. It’s an echo of the designs found in the margins of medieval Celtic manuscripts and the flowing foliage and curves of earlier La Tene art. Which is a lot to put on a simple mug. They are also just round and comfortable, safe for the dishwasher and microwave. The glazes are non toxic and it is intended for daily use.
These mugs hold approximately 12 ounces comfortably, 14 oz. full to the brim.
